Manifesto's, Coaching, & more

Greetings,

In the past week I've had some good workouts at the gym for my strength training routine.  I've been following the "Power To The People" workout format, a 2-lift focus on maximum strength with 2 lifts, the deadlift and the bench press, which I've chosen for it. There are others to pick, but the deadlift is the main baby to do as your "Pull" movement, and the "Press" movement can be a lot of actions.  So far, I've been doing pretty good with it, getting back into a nice groove of lifting frequently again.

In the back of this book is the PTTP "Manifesto", basically a 2-page statement of why things are the way they are presented in the book.

Manifesto, defined by many dictionary's, means this:

"A public declaration of principles, policies, or intentions, especially of a political nature."

Well, my declaration of why I do the things I do isn't exactly of a political nature, but I do have a series of basic principles & intentions with the way I do things.

I'm going to work on this, because I believe it can help me stay focused on why I keep doing the things I do with my training.  In short, you can probably guess that most of my "1MileNation Manifesto" would include such things as:
High Intensity Interval Training
Kettlebell Training
Bodyweight Training
Barbell Training
Dumbbell Training
Track Training
My disdain for long, slow distance runs
My disdain for long, slow cardio workouts in general

I'm going to peck away at this here & there, and you'll see it published on the blog and put on my ASAPWorkouts.com site when it's ready.

It should be a fun little project.

In other stuff, my volleyball coaching is winding down here, as we are in the Regional tourney, with it being '1 and done'.  We lose, we're done.  We play Monday, and hopefully with a win we'd play on Tuesday.  I think there is a 3rd place game if we make it to the semi's, so with a game on Tuesday, we would play again on Thursday for either the championship or for 3rd.  Champion of course goes onto State.

Once VB is done, I am getting back into doing some fitness training at our new fitness center.  My job has me done at 2:30pm each day, so that leaves a great opportunity to get back into doing some 'Prime Time' fitness training, during the hours of 4-8pm, which is generally considered a golden time for trainers to get their training sessions in with clients.

I'm going to be focusing on three areas:

1-Time Fitness Consult, Evaluation, & 4-week Program Design

1 on 1 Private Training Package

Small Group Semi-Private Training Package (2-4 people)

With the first option of a consult, eval, and program development, this also allows me to get into doing some Distance Coaching, via online training, phone coaching, and email consultations in its own package.

I already have a former athlete I coached asking me about this, so I'm setting her up on a program to help her get ready for track season throughout this winter.

With more time available after VB season, I could do that for a fair amount of people. It would be limited however.

So, if you have any interest, please inform me of your goals & objectives.  I am going to have a program outline of what this covers, with prices as well, for people to choose.

I'm looking at in initial consult/eval fee, plus follow-up options for further consulting by the month.

More details on this will be coming shortly.

In the meantime, you can get as close as you can to having me as your Coach if you purchase the all-inclusive package at http://RocketSpeedTraining.com. With this package, you get speed/agility workouts, strength workouts, and Mile training workouts with all the e-books presented in the package.  Check it out if you haven't already done so!
