The 50/50 and The 12'er, all under 20
Greetings,
Thursday's planned evening workout was pretty much nixed, due to the workout I got at work. To make a long story short, our school had a new boiler to be installed into the boiler room, and 2 guys plus myself had to figure out a way to get it down about 4 feet, then jockeyed onto the spot where it needed to be. I was already 6 hours into my work day, and ended up staying 8.5 hours more. A 7am-9:30pm marathon of sorts. We somehow got a 2500# boiler through a 34" by 78" space, lowered 4 feet about 4 inches at a time, side by side, and manuvered between a maze of stuff into its current spot. When I got home, I was in no quality shape to try a weightlifting workout.
So, since I had 14.5 hours on Thursday, that left me for just 1.5 hours of clean-up work down in the boiler room this morning. Worked 7am to 8:30am, and came home to work on a few website tasks, then get in my workout. Wasn't really feeling the need for a heavy workout, mostly bodyweight & cardio I was in the mood for.
So, I did the "50/50", 10 sets of 5 reps each of pushups on the Pefect Pushup handles, and Hanging Leg Raises on my Iron Gym door apparatus. I'd do 5 push-ups, then 5 Leg Raises, going non-stop until I got 10 sets of each done.
Right after that, I went into the "12'er", a 12 minute workout of Tabata intervals done in the following way:
2 minutes easy
2 minutes Tabata
Repeat that cycle 2 more times.
I got 2.6 miles on the XC skier today with this workout.
This entire workout didn't take any longer than under 20 minutes.
Got showered up & cleaned up for the rest of my day. We have daily Mass at noon today at my parish, so since I can take that in, I will. I also plan a short trip this afternoon to get a few things in a town about a half-hour away.
If I have time tonight, I may do a small & light workout at the gym, mainly some medium-light bench & deadlifting. I'll see how my evening lines up.
That's all for now, until next time:
