Wind chills...in July?

Greetings,

I have to tell you, we are having some unique weather up here in North Dakota lately this summer.  I'm not sure if we are quite in 'drought' status, after all the record flooding we had this spring and the huge amounts of snow we had last winter, but our yards are sure looking thirsty, and some crops need some help from above.  But, we haven't really been "hot" in recent memory, mostly being in the 70's and 80's for temps, and rarely reaching 90.

Case in point: this morning's run, after I came in to watch the local morning news show with Mick & Michelle, I first noticed a 48 degree temp for the current temp.  They then talked about, get this, a Wind Chill factor out there at the current moment, and it was 39 degrees!  In July!  This is NUTS!

So, I get to say that I ran in a wind-chill factor temp of 39 degrees on July 16th...I had warmer mornings in May, I think.

Just some really strange weather patterns for this summer, though.

My run?  I chose another Tabata-based workout.  Here it goes...

2 minute jog to the track
2 minute jog on the track
5 minutes of 20s hard, 10s easy x 10
1 15-20 second sprint uphill, on the hill that gets you down to the track
2.5 to 3 minute jog back home for recovery.

5 minutes of 20s hard, 10s easy got me about 3x around the track.  At that point, I was right at the turn-off to the paved hill path, so I did one more sprint up the hill to finish it off.

I was even running this morning with my hood up...the air was sure cold on the lungs!  I really shouldn't be complaining, because I know there are some people who are running in 80 degrees or warmer temps, in the morning, because that's going to be the coolest part of the day for them!

I'm thinking of taking the weekend off from running, due to a retreat that I'm working on that starts on Friday.  I know I will be really busy around the clock each day, so I think I will take some days off and just rest up.
