Another Tabata Tuesday
Greetings,
I felt there was no better way to start another phase of training with a good old Tabata workout today. Legs were still a bit sore on Sunday and through Monday, plus the workload on Monday didn't help matters much on the healing end of things. Ended up doing 11 vehicles, 8 in the afternoon alone. The 8 in the latter part of the day was pretty much just doing some lot washes, getting cars washed off on the outside and putting them back on the lot. Not much to worry about on the inside on most of those. Still, it can be a lot of moving around, up & down, over time.
My Tabata interval workout was a basic 12 minute one. You probably know it by heart now, since I do these intervals often:
2 minute jog to track
2 minute jog on the track
4 minutes of 20s hard, 10s coast x 8 times
1 minute to jog on the track
2 minutes to jog back home
So, this was actually an 11-minute workout. I got 2.5 laps on the 4 minute Tabata section, so I jogged out the remaining half-lap and resumed the jog on the way home.
I think my quad's are feeling it more than anything right now.
Wasn't sure what to expect on the run today with the weather, as they were predicting rain through the early morning to mid-morning, and whadda know: we're still dry here. Looks like the rain missed us again. My yard is looking mighty thirsty, we haven't had rain in a long time it seems.
Still debating on the following:
1) focusing on the 400m for 4-6 weeks
2) focusing on the 800m for 4-6 weeks
3) focusing workouts on doing nothing but Tabata interval workouts for 4-6 weeks
What do you think I should do? Leave your comments on your thoughts.
I already have times for the 400 & 800 distances to use as 'pre-tests', so after 4-6 weeks, I'd just re-test myself again. So, I ask you kindly to give your opinion on the matter.
