A "Perfect" Workout...Plus Some "Turbulence"
Greetings, 1MileNation'ers,
People continue to sign up for the race on April 18th: Getting a lot of good feedback on the event! The sponsors are really excited, too!
My latest blog posting though caught a little 'turbulence', you'd say, on some other blog sites. I post some of my 1MileNation posts onto other fitness & running community sites, which have their own blogs for each user's profile, so my post about "Running Away From the Pack of The Ignorant" caught a little fire under some people's feet.
I know I'm a renegade running coach by suggesting that the everyday person could possibly benefit more from their running, by focusing on shorter distances than by building up towards longer ones. One man even suggested if I was looking for 'converts', then I'd have to try a little harder.
Converts? I'm not creating a religion here. I'm just trying to build a "Nation" of runners who feel they don't have to run so darn long any more in order to continually get into better shape.
The concept of 1MileNation.com is taking shape, taking notice, and this "Nation" is growing. More & more people are becoming aware of new concepts & techniques to apply to their running workouts in order to achieve a higher level of fitness than before, and not be succumbed into hours upon hours of long distance runs in uncomfortable conditions.
I don't know how many questions I've got from people online who continually ask me how they can get more out of their workouts after doing the same distances at the same paces for weeks & months on end...the madness has to stop out there. I want 1MileNation.com to help stop some of that nonsense!
In other news....
I have added a new workout article over at ASAPWorkouts.com, called "The 'Perfect' Workout?", found at:
http://asapworkouts.com/perfectwo.pdf
It is a quick article on the usage of some new exercise devices you may have seen on TV and wondered about...
Also, I have just added some of Craig Ballantyne's world-famous "Turbulence Training" workout programs, up for sale, on the ASAPWorkouts.com site. I decided to add these so there are more options for visitors to the site for workouts. They are mainly targeted at adults, and since I get coaches, trainers, & parents visiting the site for quality information & advice, I wanted to offer them something that falls in-line with most of the principles I apply for quality training. Craig Ballantyne is a leader in the fitness field in providing high intensity, short-duration exercise routines: my kind of training! Plus, many of his workouts are affordable, at less than $10 for 4-8 week programs to do! So, feel free to check out his programs here:

I have had a series of individuals sign up for the race, but still no teams. That doesn't mean that I am not taking any, however...So, get yourself signed up if you haven't done so already, and better yet, get 3 of your friends to get on a team & join you in the adventure to your fastest Mile yet!
