More Praise for 1MileNation.com!

Greetings, Fellow Miler's!

I posted some news on my blog over at FitConnect.com about THIS new blog site, and I must say I have a few fans of the idea presented by 1MileNation.com.  In short, I had one guy say in a nutshell, "Finally, a running site dedicated to HIIT workouts!"

What is HIIT?  Well, it is an acronym for High Intensity Interval Training.  It is precisely the type of method I suggest for training for better fitness & performance improvements, and doing so by focusing on the mile.

I feel that HIIT methods will soon overcome the traditional ways of training for running, to a point.  Perhaps affecting the way runners train up to the 5K distance.  However, its going to take a lot of mind-changing to do so.  You see, there are generations of runners who are still going off of decades worth of the long/slow approach to going fast, and pretty soon, these followers of long/slow methods will be eaten ALIVE by the faster, swifter, HIIT style runner.  Why?  Because once it takes hold, you will see hordes of runners getting in better shape by running less and doing more within their workouts, with less overuse injuries and complications that usualy come from slow/long distance workouts.

It all comes down to logic: Would you want better results by going faster, or hoping for results by going slower?  If research shows that you can get faster, in less time than traditional programming, then why would you continue to follow a long/slow method of training?

Hopefully 1MileNation.com can lead the charge ahead into the next decade or so, changing minds and helping out runners & athletes with getting into the best shape they can be.

One last thing: I see the link I provided in the last email didn't go through, as I'm still new to this blog entry system.  I forgot to highlight the link to the 3-2-1 Approach program, so here it is once again:

In future blogcasts, I will try to remember to leave this link in every post.

Stay tuned for a new blog post, where I will post the dates of having our first "Online Race" of the mile to see where we are at in the month of January.

Run Strong, Run Fast,
Run so as to Win!
